
Today (December 13, 2024), Mr. Siam Sirimongkol, the Director-General of the Department of Community Development, honored as the Chairman of the Opening Ceremony of the "Charm of Chanthaburi, Three Waterways: Travel, See, Shop the Best of Chanthaburi" event. Mr. Monthasit Phaisalthanawat, Governor of Chanthaburi Province, delivered the welcome speech, and Ms. Kanchana Thongkasem, Director of the Chanthaburi Provincial Community Development Office, reported the objectives of the event. The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Heads of Government Agencies, District Chiefs, Women’s Organization Networks, Community Development Partners, distinguished guests, and the media in large numbers.
The Director-General of the Department of Community Development stated that Chanthaburi is a province renowned for its unique cultural identity and natural resources. In addition to its reputation for gemstones and fruit, it also boasts local wisdom and OTOP products that deeply reflect the way of life and culture of the communities. This event aims to promote the province’s potential and support local producers and entrepreneurs so they can compete sustainably in the market.
Key activities of the event include over 50 OTOP booths showcasing quality products such as Chanthaburi local food, Thai sweets, handicrafts, and herbal products. There will also be live demonstrations of traditional local foods from the three cultures (Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese):
In addition, there will be a zone dedicated to OTOP Innovative Villages showcasing local food and traditional desserts, as well as performances of Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese cultural arts, giving visitors the chance to experience the diverse lifestyles of these cultures. A special mini-concert will also take place every evening from December 13-15, 2024, at Khet Na Boonyaram Temple, Phokasiri Market, and the Chanthaburi riverside community.
